Vocal Ensembles

Welcome - Prospective Students - Undergraduate Programs - Graduate Programs - Vocal Ensembles - Voice Faculty

A wide variety of ensembles are available to all students on the University of Alabama campus. Participation in an approved ensemble is required for music majors each semester; ensembles of particular interest to singers include the Alabama Women's Chorale, the University Chorus, the University Singers, and the University Opera Theatre. For more information about the choral program and its upcoming season, visit Director of Choral Activities Dr. John Ratledge's website by clicking here.

The 19th Annual Honor Choir will be held Monday, October 30, 2006. Check back here soon for more information!

The University Opera Theatre is involved in several exciting projects for the upcoming 2006-2007 season. In October, we will present Mozart's masterpiece "The Magic Flute" with full orchestra. Then in December, we will welcome in the holiday season by presenting Menotti's "Amahl and the Night Visitors". This production will be presented in the beautiful sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church. Finally, the spring semester will feature our annual operatic scenes program, including some new repertoire as well as some old favorites. As you see "There's Magic Happening at Moody!"

If you would like more information about the opera program, please contact Prof. Susan Fleming at sfleming@music.ua.edu.
