Charles Snead, is the Director of the School of Music and Professor of Horn. he received his Master’s of Music degree from the University of Georgia and his Bachelor’s of Music degree from Jacksonville University. He is a founding member of the TransAtlantic Horn Quartet. He is also hornist with the Alabama Brass Quintet and Capstone Woodwind Quintet, and the principal hornist of the Tuscaloosa Symphony and formerly with the Jacksonville Symphony. Mr. Snead has recorded with the Classic Brass, Kentuckiana Brass Ensemble, and as a soloist on Centaur records. He previously served on the music faculty at Murray State University and was recognized by MSU for excellence in teaching. Mr. Snead has been a University of Alabama faculty member since 1988.
