Christopher Segall is a music theorist specializing in 20th-century Russian music and music theory. He holds degrees from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Canada (piano performance) and the University of Toronto (music theory) and is currently completing his Ph.D. at the City University of New York Graduate Center. In 2009, he received the Patricia Carpenter Emerging Scholar Award from the Music Theory Society of New York State. He has made presentations at regional and national conferences, and his article, “K-Nets, Inversion, and Gravitational Balance,” has been published in the journal Theory & Practice. Prior to joining the faculty at UA, he taught at the City College of New York.
