Kenneth McGuire is an Associate Professor of Music Education. He has been a music education faculty member at The University of Alabama since 1998. He earned degrees from Syracuse University, and the State Universities of New York at Fredonia and Binghamton. Dr. McGuire taught general and choral music in the public schools of New York State for ten years. He has presented original research and ideas at numerous workshops and conferences, and has had articles published in Journal of Research in Music Education, Journal of Music Therapy, International Journal for Mathematics Teaching and Learning, Southeastern Journal of Research in Music Education, Music Educators Journal, and Teaching Music. Dr. McGuire has served Music Educators National Conference, Alabama Music Educators Association, Alabama State Education Department, and local arts advocacy groups in multiple leadership roles.
