We are proud to announce that one of our own, Dr. Paul Houghtaling is the recipient of this year’s University of Alabama “Blackmon Moody Award”. This award is one of the premier faculty awards at UA and is given on an annual basis in consideration of a singular “career milestone” or achievement. This award is highly competitive campus wide. Current and past faculty, along with current and past students made strong contributions to Paul’s nomination file that obviously proved both convincing and compelling to the selection committee. The description of the award that is found that UA’s website is as follows:
“The Blackmon-Moody Outstanding Professor Award recognizes singular, exceptional, or timely work in the form of: research, product, program, or published material. The award reflects credit to the individual professor, the field of study, students’ education, and The University of Alabama. The Blackmon-Moody Outstanding Professor Award focuses on a particular accomplishment that is innovative, creative, useful, or captures the imagination.”
