This new chamber opera by Amir Zaheri on a libretto by Robin Behn tells the stories of women and men leading their lives in Tuscaloosa during the closing days of the Civil War, including the advancing of the Union troops across the Black Warrior River, the burning of the university campus, and the saving of the President’s Mansion by a brave Mrs. Garland.
