For this week’s convocation, we have a special guest visiting Tuscaloosa with ESPN College Gameday. You may recognize Jason Fitz from various ESPN shows, but what you may not know is that his background is in classical violin. Fitz studied at Julliard as a child, was the lead fiddle player for The Band Perry, has 13 Grammy nominations (1 win), and has played on albums totaling over 40 million sales. During convocation, Fitz is going to chat about his life as both a classical and mainstream artist, and life touring. Read the rest of his biography.
Music Convocation takes place weekly in the Spring and Fall semesters on Fridays at noon. This week, convocation will take place in the Recital Hall. This event is open to all School of Music students and faculty.
