Alumni Spotlight: Cameron Bright, MM ’23

Cameron Bright has been named as the Assistant Percussion Director at Birdville High School in North Richland Hills, TX to begin in the Fall of 2023.
Cameron completed his Master of Music degree in percussion performance in the Spring of 2023 at the University of Alabama. During his time as a masters candidate, he served as the Graduate Teaching Assistant for the percussion department.
During his time at UA, Mr. Bright has been part of the percussion ensemble that performed at the PASIC IPEC competition in 2021, the UA Wind Ensemble as principal percussionist whom performed at CBDNA in Georgia. He also performed several times with the UA Jazz Combo, Huxford Symphony Orchestra, and the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra as well as UA Musical Theatre’s 2023 production of “Into the Woods”, and received an honorable mention in the 2022 Huxford Concerto Competition.
When asked about the past two years at the University of Alabama, Cameron remarks:
“In my time here at UA, I have made long-lasting friendships and professional relationships that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I have had my musicianship and scholarship pushed and developed by many faculty members across the School of Music, and I look forward to taking everything I’ve learned into my professional career.”
