University Singers is The University of Alabama’s premier vocal ensemble. Made up of undergraduate and graduate singers representing over thirty academic disciplines, this ensemble serves as an ambassador for the university both on- and off-campus. This ensemble is open to sophomore through graduate students only. Auditions for each academic year occur in April of the previous semester.

The Campus Orchestra is comprised of pre-college students, current UA students, and post-college students.
Concert Band

The Alabama Concert Band is comprised of UA students from various majors and membership of the ensemble is selected by audition at the beginning of each semester.
Contemporary Ensemble

The University of Alabama Contemporary Ensemble aims to create a welcoming, adventurous space for performers of all backgrounds and skill levels to engage with music of our time.
Druid City Chorus

Druid City Chorus (DCC) is a community and university-based ensemble consisting of Tuscaloosa community members (ages 18+), University of Alabama (UA) faculty/staff, and students from UA, Stillman College, and Shelton State. Participation in DCC requires a voicing appointment before registering.
Early Chamber Ensembles

The Early Chamber Ensembles offer students the opportunity to perform early repertoire (music from the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical eras) for credit in the School of Music’s chamber music program. Ensembles take music majors at both the undergrad and graduate level by audition at the beginning of each semester.
Huxford Symphony Orchestra

Sponsored by Ms. Camilla Huxford, the Huxford Symphony Orchestra is The University of Alabama’s top orchestral ensemble. Under the direction of Camilla Huxford Endowed Chair and Tuscaloosa’s own Ransom Wilson, the orchestra performs a wide range of repertoire, from beloved classics to little-known gems to recently composed works. The orchestra is composed of students from across Alabama, the United States, and around the globe, bringing talented young musicians together in one ensemble to give world-class performances of orchestral literature to Tuscaloosa and the surrounding community.
Jazz Ensemble and Combos

The UA Jazz Ensemble provides a professional atmosphere for students interested in the many aspects of jazz. The Alabama Jazz Band and Jazz Standards Combo are off-shoots of the Jazz Ensemble. These groups are open by audition to any student, regardless of major.
Million Dollar Band

The Million Dollar Band is one of the most respected university marching bands in the country. Members of the Million Dollar Band are majors in almost every school and department within the University; all new and returning students must audition for membership into the Million Dollar Band.
Musician’s Collective

Open to pre-college students, UA students, and post-college adults, the Musician’s Collective encourages an environment of collaboration among performers, songwriters, improvisers, and sound engineers/producers that will yield original music, new arrangements of existing music, and new possibilities for blending genres.
Opera Theatre

The UA Opera Theatre training program includes opera as well as musical theater styles ranging from the Baroque to the 21st century. Graduate and undergraduate students in all degree programs can study the art of the singer-actor, applying skills to the rehearsal process to bring music and theater to life on the stage.
Symphonic Band

The Alabama Symphonic Band is one of four wind bands housed within The University of Alabama School of Music. The band performs a varied repertoire of literature, and membership of the ensemble is selected by audition in the Fall of each year.
Tenor Bass Chorus

The UA Tenor Bass Chorus is the School of Music’s only ensemble solely for tenor and bass voices of all experience levels. Undergraduate and graduate students of all majors perform in this ensemble. This choir is not auditioned. All singers are encouraged to register!
Treble Chorus

The UA Treble Chorus is a non-auditioned ensemble of undergraduate and graduate singers from more than 35 academic disciplines across campus. The varied backgrounds of the UA Treble Chorus members enhance our interpretations of repertoire, which spans from historical works to contemporary commissions. This choir is not auditioned. University Chorus

The UA University Chorus is one of the university’s large-ensemble SATB choirs consisting of undergraduate and graduate students pursuing music and non-music majors. This choir is not auditioned. All singers are encouraged to register!
Wind Ensemble

The Alabama Wind Ensemble is a select group of the finest wind players and percussionists from within the University Band Program and the School of Music. Membership to this ensemble requires an audition.
