Alumni Spotlight: Zoe Griffin, BS ’23

Zoe Griffin has been named as the choral director at Northside Middle and High School to begin in the fall of 2023!

Ms. Griffin received her bachelor’s degree in choral/vocal music education in the Spring of 2023.

During her time at the University of Alabama she was a member of cNAfME, the treasurer of ACDA in 2022, and won the Anne C. Witt Music Education Scholarship in 2022. Zoe was a member of University Chorus (alto section leader, Spring 2022), Treble Chorus, University Singers (alto section leader, Fall 2023), and Chamber Choir. She was a featured soloist in Dr. Bonita Bunt’s studio recital in the Spring of 2022, and a featured soloist in Dr. Alexis Davis-Hazell’s studio recital in the Fall of 2022.

Zoe completed her senior recital on November 6, 2022, and performed repertoire by Amy Beach, Robert and Clara Schumann, and Gabriel Fauré.

When asked about her time studying at the UA School of Music she expresses:

“I have loved my time in the School of Music! I have made great strides as a performer and educator, as well as relationships that I hope will last the rest of my life. I want to especially thank the professors who have worked closely with me in the past few years; I’ve gained a lot of wisdom from them and they’re the only reason I feel prepared to go out into the professional world!”

We look forward to seeing Ms. Griffin do fantastic things as she embarks on her first year as a music educator.

Congratulations, Zoe and Roll Tide!
