In addition to his teaching experience at The University of Alabama, Dr. Woosley has taughtFundamentals of Music at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Music Appreciation at Shelton State Community College. Dr. Woosley also helped create listening guides for an online music appreciation course by publisher McGraw-Hill. In addition to his classical performances (as soloist and accompanist), Dr. Woosley has been the pianist for various jazz bands, contemporary ensembles, and percussion ensembles. He enjoys participating as a pianist for a variety of professional music opportunities including solo and group jazz, weddings, receptions, and parties. As a musical theater keyboardist, Dr. Woosley has used his familiarity with keyboard/music technology to perform the notated parts for over fifty instruments in a single musical theater production.
Dr. Woosley is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Alabama Music Teachers Association (AMTA), West Alabama Music Teachers Association (WAMTA), College Music Society (CMS), and American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
